Glenda Kickett is a Balardong/Warjuk woman; her family connections are the Kickett, Humes, Garlett and Yarrans. As a young child she was raised in East Perth before moving to Floreat Park. Glenda Kickett received the Lillian Harris Scholarship in 1978 and the Australian Undergraduate Study Award in 1989.
Glenda Kickett has worked in several key Indigenous areas such as Centrecare - Djooraminda, Aboriginal Development Commission (ATSIC), Commonwealth Education and Department of Empoloyment (DEET), Office of Aboriginal Health and as a Social Worker for Yorganop Child Care Corporation. In additon to this, she has worked as a Senior Coordinator at Edith Cowan University and a Lecturer at Curtin University Centre for Aboriginal Studies. She has served as Chairperson of National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) in Perth.
In 2010, Kickett was awarded the West Australian Socail Worker of the Year Award. She studied for her PhD at the University of Western Australia.
