AbstractHistoryArchive Description

Formed from a merger of the Beaudesert Despatch and Logan and Albert Leader and the Beaudesert Herald in 1908, the Beaudesert Times was under the controlling interest of Patrick James Leahy, local politician. The first issue appeared on 10 October 1908.

Originally edited by F. Parker under the management of John Adamson Walker, Parker's departure saw Walker take the editorship of the paper.

Leahy died in 1927, and his estate sold his controlling interest in the newspaper to Frank Hodgson in 1930: Hodgson later became the sole owner.

In 1967, the paper became the Logan and Albert Times, but reverted to its original name nearly twenty years later, in 1985.

In 2012, it was purchased by Fairfax Regional Media.
