Notes

  • Was one of the entries in an ABC competition for 'original plays and sketches by Australian writers, suitable for broadcasting'. The first prize went to James Bradford, a Queensland writer, for The Puppet. While it didn't win any of the prizes, it was retained for production.

Production Details

  • First broadcast on 7 February 1935, as part of a double-bill with another play form the competition: A Foreground for Fanny, by George Landen Dann.

    Characters: Biddy, the maid of all work; Grace, the maid of all work next door; John Maxwell, a tenant In the house; Jane Maxwell, his wife. (See 'On the Air', Central Queensland Herald, 31 January 1935, p.57.)
