The 22nd novel in Terry Pratchett's Discworld series, The Last Continent is set in a version of Australia, the continent of 'Fourecks' (XXXX).
The novel contains a wide range of Australian references: for example, the protagonist Rincewind is aided by a magicla kangaroo, becomes the hero of a ballad very like 'Waltzing Matilda', and invents vegemite, the cork hat, and 'Peach Nellie'. The primary plot revolves around Rincewind's attempts to end an enduring drought, which he does with the aid of a bullroarer.
