BiographyHistory

John Robert Searle he is one of few Aboriginal men recorded as serving in the Boer War (1899-1902). Searle was a private (service No. 9) in the Fourth Mounted Infantry Contingent, Western Australia (Australian War Memorial record). In 2013, a grave plaque dedication service was held in Perth, for Searle.
