AbstractHistoryArchive Description

A stockman falls foul of a magnificent brumby, the 'Overlord of the Ranges'.

Notes

  • Note: Winning Entry Open Story Competition, Wagga Eisteddfod, 1929.
  • Akin to the later Silver Brumby, in that the horse is anthropomorphised, and depicted as brave, noble, and disdainful of domestication (at one point, he deliberately breaks up a mob of cattle, for example).
