AbstractHistoryArchive Description

Although Melbourne's Leader newspaper noted in its 29 June preview that Carry on Carrie had won favour in London and the provinces (p.33), the following week's review records that the musical score was by Fred Whaite (5 July 1918, p.33). He and Victor Prince had also collaborated on another comic opera, Carmelita. In the latter review the writer further notes that the music was catchy and the libretto has "true humour of the stage." No details regarding the storyline have yet been located.
