Notes

  • In the earlier 20th century, this author appears to have lived at Bothwell, in Tasmania. Further biographical details remain to be established.

In 1914, Mansfield submitted two anti-war poems to the Australian Worker. The first was written by the 19th century Scottish author Charles Mackay ('Freedom'), the second by the 19th century American author Lydia Sigourney ('Are We Not Brothers All'). In both instances the poems were were published under Mansfield's name. However, it is unclear whether Mansfield deliberately tried to pass the poems off as their own works.
