BiographyHistory

(ca. 1918). Little is  known about this Australian Flying Corps entertainment company apart from a concert it staged for the opening of the Mechanics' Recreation Room ('somewhere in France) in early 1918. The show comprised individual comic songs, dances, comedy items and musical selections from the orchestra, along with a sketch titled 'In the Eighties.'

The performers involved in the Mechanics Recreation concert included: A. Moran (female impersonator), Lieut. Paxton, Sgt. Cobbin, Aircraft Mechanics - H. Cullen (female impersonator), Moore, Hanson (also music director), Gribble, Humphrey, Pathe, S. Williams and Robertson (also scenic artist). The director was Lieut. D. C. Allardice. Others involved in the production incouded: Sgt H. Beattie (assistant manager), C. R. Clark (stage manager and acting director), S. Crankshaft (costumes), and Lance Corporal P. Jacobs (violin/orchestra leader).
