This exhibition collects publicly available resources on a selection of David Malouf's work, as well as some sources relating to Malouf's career as a whole.
While AustLit contains records for over 500 works about David Malouf and nearly 1000 works about his work, not all of those works are immediately available: some are monographs, some are out of print, and some are behind subscription walls.
This exhibition collects resources that are immediately available, from podcasts of lectures and interviews to book reviews and critical articles.
The resources are grouped under specific novels, where each resource is briefly contextualised and described.

David Malouf's paternal family came to Australia in the 1880s from Lebanon. His mother's family, Sephardic Jews from Spain who had gone to England via Holland, migrated to Australia in 1913 after suffering financial difficulties. Malouf was born at 'Yasmar', a private hospital in South Brisbane, the suburb where his childhood home at 12 Edmondstone Street was located. He has written about that home and other places of significance in 12 Edmondstone Street (1985). Scarborough, north of Brisbane, was a favourite place of childhood.
