Note on origins:
A review in Australian newspaper the Nepean Times describes the film as 'Dion Titheradge's famous stage play, brilliantly transferred to the screen' (26 March 1932, p.4), while the London Times describes it, conversely, 'a drama specially written for the screen by Mr. Dion Titheradge' (15 July 1931, p.12).
No trace has been found of a Titheradge play by this title, so the Times describes appears to be the accurate one.
