    Anne Pender is (2016) Professor of English and Theatre Studies. She held an Australian Research Council Future Fellowship from 2012-2015 and conducted a major study of Australian actors on stage, television and film. A Menzies Scholar to Harvard University and graduate of the Australian National University and the University of New South Wales, Anne taught Australian Literature at King's College London in 2002-03 and was Visiting Distinguished Professor of Australian Studies at the University of Copenhagen in 2011-12.

  • Professor Bruce Bennett

    Professor Bruce Bennett was born in Perth, Western Australia, in 1941. He was educated at West Leederville State School, Hale School and the University of Western Australia. A Rhodes Scholar, he is a graduate of the Universities of Western Australia, Oxford and London.

    Professor Bennett taught at the University of Western Australia from 1968 to 1992, where he was Associate Professor and Director of the Centre for Studies in Australian Literature. He edited the quarterly literary magazine Westerly with Peter Cowan from 1975 to 1992, and, from 1993, was Professor of English at University College, University of New South Wales at the Australian Defence Force Academy in Canberra.

  • Dr Ian Henderson

    Ian Henderson grew up in Melbourne and Tasmania. He completed his PhD at the University of Sydney in 2001, and then lectured at Griffith University. In 2004 he took up a position as lecturer at the Menzies Centre. His research concentrates on the history of reading, with a focus on mid-Victorian British and Australian colonial literary culture; and Australian film. He has been the editor of 'Studies in Australasian Cinema' and been involved in the 'Reverse Diaspora: Australian Expatriate Writers in Britain 1830-2010' project with Professor Bruce Bennett and Dr Anne Pender.
