19th-Century Australian Travel Writing
This short emigrant pamphlet is prefaced with advertisements with advice on the routes and companies offering passage to Tasmania. Briefly describing historical, geographical and political matters, the work then presents practical hints to emigrants with a focus on labour. The appendix lists emigrant agencies in England and the colonies, followed by an inventory of banks and other useful institutions.
