A thief, called upon by an untrustworthy lawyer (who is also a lizard) to steal a priceless crystal cat, stumbles from the grey world of Old London into the bright copper and riveted-iron world of New London.

  • Steampunk note: The steampunk elements of this story are relatively minimal, evident primarily in the architecture. The concept of two juxtaposed Londons–Old London and New London–is also an actualisation of the underlying concept of steampunk.
