History
Offered by The Bulletin, the Gyroscopic poem 'must deal with a modern subject in a modern manner; it must not refer to the past nor make use of the hallowed cliches of classical verse; it must deal only in futures, it must not rhyme and its metre must be irregular. This is merely the ABC of Gyroscopism. The main thing is that it must be gyroscopic.' (http://nla.gov.au/nla.obj-656636545)
