History

'The Playground Young Playwright’s Competition was open to young writers aged 19 and under and was launched by Shank’s Pony Productions and presented by Tuggeranong Arts Centre. It was generously supported by Canberra Youth Theatre and Paperchain Bookstores. Playground was created to provide an opportunity for young, unpublished Playwrights to see their work performed by a team of theatre professionals. The aim of this new initiative is to effectively showcase the new work in order to encourage and inspire young writers in the ACT.
