History

'The Dromkeen Librarian's Award is a national award presented to a librarian, teacher, teacher-librarian or children's and youth services personnel in a library setting, in recognition of the important role they play in introducing young people to literature and encouraging an enjoyment and love of reading.

'Past recipients of the award are librarians who are able to think laterally to draw in a wider audience through innovative practice; for example, at a political or local level through festivals, conferences, presentations or the establishment of fruitful partnerships.' (Source: Award website)
