AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'He just wanted to dance better at parties. But then she came along and changed everything.

'A man is steeped in grief, stumbling from one day to the next. On a whim, he signs up at a local dance school and finds himself in the capable arms of a lovely instructor. Over a series of ten classes, he begins to thaw - feet first.

'We are thrilled to present internationally acclaimed dancemaker Gideon Obarzanek's first foray into text-based theatre - albeit in a play in which the rumba, the salsa and the paso doble do a lot of the talking.

'Based on a true story, the simply but inventively told Dance Better at Parties reminds us of the importance of touch and physical expression in emotional wellbeing. It might just have you heading to your local dance school.' (Source: Sydney Theatre Company website)
