AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'Shadows Under Her Shoes is a reflexive narrative. Through the character of Maali we follow her journey as she explores her emotional landscape which is heavily founded on her relationships with her parents.

Maali marks the difference between herself and the nexis for how she manages to depart, particularly from her mother's emotional mores, and how she holds onto those elements which work positively for her in her life.

Maali's life journey, her Lebenslauf, begins in a post war, post holocaust, post cold war Berlin. Berlin is rebuilding itself and so are the people who have experienced its demolition.

Through conversations with her friends in real time and those that arrive from a dead friend, Maali's overarching atmosphere for having a good life is superimposed on all that happens. The work embraces the ideals for living a life of substance.' (Source: http://events.whittlesea-leader.whereilive.com.au/events/rion-pym-schaare-shadows-under-her-shoes#.UTKtUjCnpkg)
