An American adaptation of the Australian television series of the same name. Originally, the series followed the plot of the Australian version: a man (the character was 'Ben Crawford' in both versions) becomes the prime suspect in the murder of a young boy from his neighbourhood. Ben Crawford (who has confessed to the original murder to protect the actual murderer) is revealed in series two to have been killed in prison.
When the program was renewed for a second series, it adopted an anthology television approach: the main character of Detective Andrea Cornell remained, but the series followed an entirely new murder investigation (the death of a young wife, whose husband–heir to a private security firm–becomes the prime suspect).
