Carpentaria : Creating a Contemporary Indigenous World, Jing Wu , single work criticism
'Carpentaria, written by Alexis Wright, was published in 2006 and won the Miles Franklin Award in 2007. According to Wright, Carpentaria is about "indigenous sovereignty of the mind and how we imagine our future". By discussing the uniqueness of indigenous writing, the profound thinking of indigenous writers, the creative way of narrative in Carpentaria, the essay argues that Carpentaria offers a world that is a coherent representation of contemporary indigenous society and expresses Wright's deep thinking of her own nation.'
