  • This poem appears in Ashley Ekins's introduction to the third edition of The Anzac Book, which includes a number of previously unpublished poems and other items which were originally rejected by the book's editor Charles Bean. The poem is critical of the ill conceived and futile attack mounted at Lone Pine in August 1915, here termed 'The Demonstration'.
