The Bulletin has commended and quoted from Mr Meston's speech in Cairns prior to the election. Mr Meston publishes in The Bulletin under the nom de plume 'Maroogaline.'

The Drill-Shed Episode, single work column
The item supposedly taken from The Cairns Post and published in the Brisbane Courier was actually from the Cairns Chronicle. Nevertheless, the Post maintains this does not excuse the Courier, and also asserts the paper knows the name of the person responsible for attributing the original report to the Post.
