- Mr H. Z. Taylour has been appointed in charge of the editorial arrangements of The Cairns Post. Mr Taylour formerly occupied a similar position with The Newcastle Herald.
- Subscribers who have failed to pay their arrears are notified that these accounts will be placed in the hands of the paper's solicitors. Subscribers who have the idea they do not need to pay for their newspapers would be better to read the news in the bar-parlour.

(p. 3)Two sketches about German Charlie, a Silverton local identity. In one he instructs a policeman on how to make rum. In the other he relates how he built a coffin and dug a grave for an ill patron. When the man failed to die Charlie charged him for the services.
