Notes

  • English translation of the title: Pushing Jack Kuntikunti: A selection of poetry from Australia [The firt part of the title refers to the lead poem of the collection, by Billy Marshall-Stoneking.]
  • Sapardi Djoko Damono indicates in his Editor’s and Translator’s Comments that he took ‘final responsibility for all translations of the poems’. However, transations of two poems were carried out by other prominent Indonesian poets, Goenawan Mohamad and Taufiq Ismail, and fifteen of the translations were intially undertaken by other Indonesians, possibly students in Literature at the UI, together with Sapardi.
