This untitled poem appears to have been written by Henry Kendall. It is remarkably similar to Kendall's poem 'A Psalm for the Conventicle', which was published in the Freeman's Journal of 12 January, 1881. The first lines and a good deal of the text of both poems is almost identical. Note however that the two poems are quite different works. This untitled poem appears to involve New South Wales politics, whereas 'A Psalm for the Conventicle' is a satire on sectarianism and religious intolerance.
