Mr Walter Montgomery was taken ill at Castlemaine, but is recovering. His series of readings will open at Sandhurst on 20 November.

Although attendance in the dress circle was sparse, the pit, gallery and stalls were well-filled. Pieces presented were 'Jack Sheppard' and the burlesque 'Aladdin', both of which were played with 'much spirit' and were greatly enjoyed by the audience.
