Duncan McPherson (Sandy) helps a neighbour, Fay, when an escaped draft horse named Tony is ruining her father's crops. Sandy works for the Italian cane farmer who owns the horse and Fay's father is furious with the horse and his owner. Later the horse helps the two families become friends as they fight a bushfire togerther.
