AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'Once again Marji Hill and Alex Barlow have joined forces to produce a critical, annotated bibliography of resources on Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders. Black Australia 2 received the support of the Curriculum Development Branch of the Commonwealth Department of Education and Youth Affairs (formerly the Curriculum Development Centre) and the Australian Institute for Aboriginal Studies. It concentrates on those items particularly suited for primary use which were produced in the period 1977-82. As with the first Black Australia, the 347 entries received are graded for usability from infant to tertiary level, and are rated as highly recommended. A unique feature of Black Australia 2 is the involvement of Aboriginal people in the resource evaluation and its overall production. This was made possible by the generous support of the New South Wales, Victorian, South Australian and Western Australian State Education Departments.' Source: Back cover.
