Notes

  • This poem appears in an article by Lang, titled 'Romish Tactics' that was published in the Sydney Morning Herald on 14 March 1846, prior to Lang's departure for England. In the article, Lang chastises the Herald's editor for his Roman Catholic bias. The poem takes the form of a litany; the antiphon reading: 'Holy Coat! pray for us'.
