AbstractHistoryArchive Description

John Hetherington writes in the introduction to this 10-part series on the Australian publishing industry: 'Australian books are coming into their own in Australia at last. The boom developed in 1962 and promises to grow stronger this year. This means that Australia's publishing houses are able to plan ahead with more confidence than ever before. This... [series will] examine, in turn, the achievements and aims, as well as history, of each of the leading publishing houses, and the chief personalities associated with them' (Age 16 Feb. 1963, p. 17).

Notes
