AbstractHistoryArchive Description

The narrator relates a story of how he came across a hot air balloon being prepared to ascend, and of the free lottery that would allow four lucky people to ride in the balloon. He approaches a winning ticket holder who seems to be having second thoughts about the trip and offers to purchase his ticket, but the winner's greed ruins what would have been an agreeable arrangement.
