  • To mark the occasion of the launch of the Wheeler Centre the director, Chrissy Sharp, and the heads of the Centre's resident literary organisations were asked to 'nominate a piece of writing that has shaped the beginning of their new literary year and brought them fresh ideas in 2010.' As well as Chrissy Sharp, Steve Grimwade of the Melbourne Writers Festival, Arnold Zable, president Melbourne PEN Centre, Zoe Dattner general manager of the Small Press Underground Networking Community, Paul Kooperman, acting director of the Australian Poetry Centre, Lisa Dempseter, direcor of the Emerging Writers' Festival and Joel Becker, director, Victorian Writers' Centre wrote short pieces on writing they thought significant.
