  • Author's note: '[T]his man ... marked the beginning of the movement from cattle to sheep abour what is now Coolamon, in the Riverina. He slept in a 'watch box' beside the fold in order to be near the sheep when there was likelihood of the loss of a lamb ... I have added nothing to what he told of his life nor to what he did for his sheep.'
