Following an argument between a couple, the drive along a mountain road is filled with tension, and their two children sit silently in the back. In an instant, the vehicle is bouncing down the side of a mountain. As the injured mother collects her children and sets off to reach help, she desperately tries to remember the last words she had said to her now dead husband.

Four friends succeed in their quest to find a mysterious underground river deep in the rainforest. Their next challenge is to canoe down it from the source to their distant campsite. They navigate the river through forest and caves and arrive safe, but mystified.
