Release Dates:

1971: First aired in Melbourne by ATV-0 on February 25. The series did not begin airing in Sydney (TEN-10) until 13 May. SAS-10 in Adelaide commenced screening the series on July 14.

Location:

  • Matlock Police was largely filmed around the Lilydale and Yarra Valley area to the east of Melbourne. Some suburban locations were also used, namely Whitehorse Road (Box Hill) and Ringwood Police Station (which doubled as Matlock Police Station for the entire series). Interior scenes were filmed at ATV-0's Melbourne studios.
