Editor's note: Geoff Goodfellow, an Adelaide poet, was diagnosed with throat cancer in January 2008. he had surgery to remove the tumour, then chemotherapy and radiation treatment and is in remission. He wrote this poem for Melbourne Football Club president Jim Stynes, who is currently fighting cancer.
