AbstractHistoryArchive Description

A thirteen-part half-hour program comprising short films by Brisbane university students, Spark was conceived by Amy Lee, then a third-year student at The University of Queensland. Lee's desire to put into practice the communications and cultural studies theories taught through the English Department (now the School of English, Media Studies, and Art History) eventuated in a multi-university community television program, Arrk.

With the majority of works coming from Griffith University and the Queensland University of Technology, Spark 'represented the energy and vibrancy of students' views through a compilation of works on challenging issues, innovative multimedia and locally-written dramas. Computer graphics provided continuity between segments.'
