Dedicated Worker With Words, June Factor , 2006 single work obituary
Wendy Lowenstein's father inscribed her 16th birthday present, a collection of Henry Lawson's poetry, with the words, 'We must be free who speak tongue that Lawson wrote'. Wendy, who died from Alzheimer's disease, fulfilled her father's exhortation. Hers was an active life of the mind and of politics, always entwined with the pleasures and possibilities of the written word.
