- Shot on location around the Campbelltown area, with overall production costs being a modest £1,000. Shooting wrapped up in August 1924.
Notes:
1. Pike and Cooper (1980) note that Longford experienced difficulties in securing adequate distribution. Evidence he tendered at the 1927 Royal Commission alleges that even though the censors approved the film for exhibition, Stuart Doyle of Union Theatres rejected it on the grounds that it was too gruesome. Longford was eventually forced to accept unfavourable terms from Hoyts, but was vindicated following the film's release when it became a commercial success. Even then the film was plagued with distribution problems. Perth audiences, for example, didn't get to see Fisher's Ghost until March 1926 (p.160).
