A column canvassing current literary news including a report on Richard Flanagan's closing address to the 2009 Sydney Writer's Festival. Flanagan spoke about proposed changes to Australia's parallel importation rules. The column also makes reference to the financial difficulties being experienced by Salt Publishing and to Clive James's desire to hold the position of professor of poetry at Oxford University.
