  • At head of column: 'Copy of the Deposition of Mr. Edward J. Eyre of Adelaide. Taken this 6th day of July, 1841, before me, Peter Belches, one of Her Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and for the Colony of Western Australia.'

This almost full page item, contains the depositions of Edward John Eyre and Wylie, detailing the events surrounding the death of John Baxter, Overseer of the expedition, and the disappearance of two Aboriginal men, Joey and Yarry, associated with Edward Eyre's exploration journey from Adelaide to King George Sound in Western Australia in 1841.
