AbstractHistoryArchive Description

Jackie Huggins' life has taken some interesting turns, from a childhood when she 'hated white people' to 14 years as a champion of reconciliation between black and white Australians. Last month, the writer and historian stepped down from the organisation driving the reconciliation 'people's movement' - Reconiciliation Australia (RA) to take some personal time out and concentrate on other challenges. In doing so, she passed the baton as the organisation's co-chair to her friend and fellow RA Director, Professor Mick Dodson. (Koori Mail 5/12/2007)
