Notes

  • This work has been attributed to a (Mrs) H. Weekes and to E. W. Stephens (M&M). (E. W. Stephens,) was a Methodist minister resident in South Australia by 1864.) There are strong indications in the text that the author was a man, not a woman, and was a visitor to Australia (1859-1862) anticipating return to the UK at the time of writing.
