AbstractHistoryArchive Description

When Jill Stirling arrived at Lakunda station in the Australian Outback, to take on the job of governess to Guy Walker's young daughter, she found herself far from welcome to her employer. He had not expected her to be either young or English - a combination he viewed with suspicion and distrust. It was only when Jill learned that his wife had deserted him and the child that she realised why Guy was so bitter and unfriendly. In time her sympathy for him turned into love - but what could ever come of the situation? Guy was still a married man, after all. And then Jill began to realise that there was some mystery about his wife's disapperance... - dust jacket flap (1975)
