Notes

  • Editor's note: Introduction...This anthology has its origins in the growing realization that my own poems on the first world war are merely part of an emerging mosaic of Australian poems which by now covers the major outlines of the war itself and its aftermath...The poems have been selected and arranged to reflect the progress of the war itself and to illustrate how almost every aspect of Australia's involvement - from recruitment to commemoration - has now been written about.' Geoff Page. (pp.9-10)
