Notes

  • "Musical instruments suggested are didgeridoo, maracas, finger cymbals, clicking sticks, guitar, hand held drums, pole with bottle tops, wash board" -- p. 5.
  • Author's note: 'The intention here was to create an intensely didactic concentrated dramatic piece, in an attempt to raise community ecological awareness. In this brief work I was concerned with presenting the problems of population density upon life forms other than humanhind, in an entertaining and non-abrasive form, that could communicate across the board. I chose beast fable as my medium as it is a proven method of communicating across age, population and class barriers without alienating any segment of the human population. As the work has to be entertaining, yet with an unambiguous message with mnemonic capacity, I have utilized mythic form, song and poetry. I have used Australian animals and nature spirits as this is my adopted homeland and hence, my primary concern. However the message is not Australia specific.' (p. 5)
