Censorship notes: One censor noted that 'The Decameron is a classic, but the selection of salacious tales for illustration is another matter. However clever these illustrations may be, they are indecently suggestive and I should ban'.
Censorship notes: The prohibition on this edition was maintained at the 1958 and 1963 reviews.
