Dedication: This story was written to commemorate and honour the memory of my parents Ludwig Leopold (Louis) and Hedwig Eisfelder nee Lambertz, who had the foresight and the courage to take me and my brother Erwin out of the loomimg danger in Germany and venture with us to a strange, foreign and distant city.
