Notes

  • The 2004 Boyer Lectures were broadcast on ABC Radio National's 'Big Ideas' program in six parts from Sunday 14 November - Sunday 19 December 2004. The published version of the lectures also includes two appendices 'How To Like This Place' and 'Thirty-Six Views of Mount Wellington'. The appendices were delivered as public lectures in Hobart and Launceston in July 2004. Conrad says 'They were written at the same time as the Boyer Lectures, and deal with similar ideas in a more detailed and geographically concentrated way.' (p.107)
